Finger carving is a leather working technique creating designs reminiscent of tooling and carving, but using only a swivel knife.  Sweeping cuts are made to create flourishes and interesting design elements, without the time and tooling involved in traditional leather tooling.  This band is a classic example of this style of carving.   The 3/4" width tapers to a 1/2" ranger style brass buckle.  The natural leather is finished with an antiquing stain to highlight the carvings and sealed in a high glass lacquer finish.
